Anti-health care protesters sink to a new low

I have written previously about how the right is using fear tactics in their attempt to stop health care reform.

Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), compared health care reform to the threat of terrorism:

I believe we have more to fear from the potential of that bill passing than we do from any terrorist right now in any country.

Yesterday, protesters at the GOP anti-health care rally were spotted holding giant posters which compared health care reform to the Holocaust.

The poster reads "National Socialist Health Care Dachau, Germany – 1945". No joke.

I like to assume that anyone that reads The Modern Left isn't an idiot so I shouldn't even need to explain why this is incredibly idiotic and offensive to the memory of everyone who suffered through the horror that was the Holocaust.

This wasn't some grass roots movement protest. This was an event supported by the GOP.

Republican organizers are planning for activists to go into the House office buildings and the U.S. Capitol and confront members directly after a press conference at noon.

Republicans attending the rally included:

Minority Leader John Boehner (OH)
Minority Whip Eric Cantor (VA)
Todd Akin (R-MO)
Roy Blunt (MO)
Jeb Hensarling (TX)
Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA)
Michele Bachmann (MN)
Ginny Brown-Waite (FL)
Jean Schmidt (OH)
Sue Myrick (NC)
and of course, Virginia Foxx (NC)

The people who wave these posters are the kind of people the GOP is actively pursuing. They actually want the nuttiest people walking the globe to come join their tent.

This is the party that claims they want what is best for Americans. Any party that would trivialize the Holocaust to win political points is completely devoid of ethics.
