Ted Nugent prays for Obama to fail

We have previously discussed how, following in the footsteps of Rush Limbaugh, Rick Santorum, Michelle Malkin, and Tom Delay have declared that they want Obama to fail.

Now we can add a new name: Ted Nugent.

Observe how the Obama media machine and soulless liberal media jumped on Rush Limbaugh’s comments that he “wanted Obama to fail.”

Anyone with a half a brain knows Rush wants only this: for America to succeed and for anti-American policies to fail.

To leave no doubt where I, your humble Motor City guitarslinger, stands, let me report without ambiguity, that I get down on bended knee daily and pray to God that he does what he can to ensure President Obama fails.

To repeat: I pray for President Obama to fail.

Of course, Ole Ted just wants what is best for America. He makes it clear he has no animosity towards Obama as a person.

Not like his statements back in 2007:

"Obama, he's a piece of shit, and I told him to suck on my machine gun," Nugent said in front of a screaming crowd as he brandishes what appear to be two large assault rifles. He was referring to Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, who is seeking the Democratic presidential nomination and would become the first black man to occupy the Oval Office.

Whoops.

He further attacked Hillary Clinton and Barbara Boxer with offensive and violent anti-female rhetoric.

"Hey Hillary, you might want to ride one of these into the sunset you worthless bitch," Nugent said, brandishing his weapons.

He also went after Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA), suggesting she, too, might like to "suck on my machine gun." Nugent's tirade against California's other Democratic Senator, Diane Feinstein, is too garbled to transcribe, but one can hear Nugent call her a "whore."

But Ted just wants what is best for America.

Of course, Ted's sense of history (and reality) leaves something to be desired.

Carter’s deranged economic policies in the late 1970s ruined the economy and put America in the worst fiscal shape since the Great Depression.

Remember gas rationing, double-digit interest rates, stagflation?

Soaring gas prices, out of control interest rates....these sound familiar. I mean, more recently than familiar than the 1970's.

Wait. It's coming to me. The Bush administration.

Oh wait. Republicans only bring wealth, good feelings, happy yet stoically patriotic bald eagles, and freedom. It must have been the Democrats who fucked up the past eight years. Somehow.

Fast-forward just a few months after American voters fired Carter for his gross incompetence on all levels. America was on the road to a 25-year economic expansion, possibly the longest in our nation’s history.

Recognizing that unfair, punitive high taxes were the road to economic destruction, Ronald Reagan cut taxes and the economy lifted off. Interest rates fell. Inflation was curtailed. Americans went back to work in droves.

Except that didn't really happen.

Overlooking that not all Americans went "back to work in droves" (recall that Reagan fired 11,345 striking air traffic controllers in 1981), Paul Krugman points out that Reaganomics wasn't exactly all sunshine and rainbows. Especially if you weren't wealthy.

The Reagan economy was a one-hit wonder. Yes, there was a boom in the mid-1980s, as the economy recovered from a severe recession. But while the rich got much richer, there was little sustained economic improvement for most Americans. By the late 1980s, middle-class incomes were barely higher than they had been a decade before — and the poverty rate had actually risen.

OK. So the Motor City Moron was wrong about Reagan, too.

But Ted comes from a place where he wants limited government. He doesn't want to pay high (or frankly, any) taxes on his vast wealth. He doesn't want to share his money with anyone. Especially acknowledged out-of-wedlock children for whom he refuses to provide financial support.

But Ted Nugent is a real American. And Real Americans™ root for the failure of their President. Not just root for it...pray for it.
