Say it aint so, Joe.

Joe Lieberman was the 2000 Democratic candidate for Vice President, running with presidential nominee Al Gore. He unsuccessfully attempted to become the Democratic Presidential nominee in the 2004 election.

During his Senate re-election bid in 2006, he lost the Democratic Party primary election. He later won re-election in the general election as a third party candidate. Lieberman has been listed as an "Independent Democrat" and sits as part of the Democratic Senate caucus in Congress.

In 2008, Lieberman supported John McCain's Presidential campaign even going to far as to give a speech at the 2008 Republican Convention. This was after Barack Obama traveled to Connecticut to campaign for "Independent Democrat" Lieberman in 2006. How kind of Joe.

Now he is looking to join the Republican Senate caucus.

An aide claims his "preference is to stay in the Democratic caucus," but he "would explore other options."

So he was the Vice Presidential candidate for the Democrats. He then lost their support but ran as an independent Democrat. Then he campaigned for a Republican (against the Democrat who campaigned for him in 2006) and further eroded Democratic support for himself and now he is looking to join the Republican caucus. Does any of this seem like the actions of someone with integrity...or someone who just wants to keep his Senate seat at any cost and the power that goes with it?
